It operates in the field of public safety, utilizing 5G technologies within a smart city framework.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The project team includes permanent faculty members from DIMAp and IMD\/UFRN, as well as PhD, Master&#8217;s, and undergraduate research students. Additionally, the project maintains a partnership with the National Institute of Software Engineering (<span style=\"color: #000000\"><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.cin.ufpe.br\/pesquisa-e-extensao\/pesquisa\/grupos-de-pesquisa\/ines\/\">INES<\/a><\/span>).<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Objective<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The objective of <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"17\">SPICI<\/b> is to develop integrated public safety applications leveraging <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"86\">5G technologies<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The applications under development within the project have strict requirements for <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"83\">reliable communication<\/b>, <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"107\">high availability<\/b>, and <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"130\">low latency<\/b> in information transfer. Consequently, they require a 5G network infrastructure that provides high capacity and communication speed, supporting a massive number of devices with minimal latency.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Challenges<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This proposal addresses several challenges, <span style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">including\u00a0<strong>integrating heterogeneous devices<\/strong>\u00a0into the communication infrastructure, ensuring\u00a0<strong>interoperability,<\/strong> and improving\u00a0<\/span>operational efficiency. Furthermore, the project seeks efficient ways to manage <b data-path-to-node=\"2\" data-index-in-node=\"249\">edge computing<\/b> and cloud storage, aiming to optimize resource allocation and the response speed to critical events.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Advanced <b data-path-to-node=\"3\" data-index-in-node=\"9\">Artificial Intelligence<\/b> techniques will be applied for automated incident detection and advanced multimedia data analysis.
