Applications will be made available that should play an important role in the public safety ecosystem, facilitating everything from emergency response to strategic crisis management. The project also aims to provide adequate support for the complete development, integration, and execution cycle of the applications, ensuring their effectiveness and reliability in the real-world operating environment.
Current Progress
The current focus of the project is on developing a module for the intelligent processing of real-time streaming data. In addition, solutions focused on public safety using 5G technologies are under development, as detailed below.
Application for Incident Response
A mobile application aimed at field police officers to assist in incident response is being developed through a partnership between the SPICI project, CIOSP, and the Smart Metropolis project, and may be integrated with CAD, a SmartMetropolisLab solution.
Intelligent Vehicle Camera
A mobile vehicle camera with automatic tracking of objects of interest, such as vehicles, aiming at the efficient capture of images for the recognition of these objects, is currently under development. An initial prototype already demonstrates the initial operation of movement control and tracking.
Application for First Responders Acting in Major Disasters
Given the complexity and magnitude of major disasters, greater preparedness is demanded of countries for integrated and coordinated disaster risk management. Therefore, it is essential to develop applications that facilitate the operationalization of action plans. In this context, an application is being developed to facilitate response and assistance actions for affected populations.
In the event of disasters, real-time information is fundamental for decision-making and team coordination. Various sources of information, such as urban cameras, improve situational awareness during the rescue process, but it is impractical for human operators to analyze images from these cameras in real time. The use of artificial intelligence to process these images enables automatic monitoring of the disaster area and the issuance of alerts that support rescue operations.
