Smart Metropolis Lab is a Research, Development, and Innovation (R&DI) laboratory at the Instituto Metrópoles Digital that was established in 2015 as a cross- and trans-disciplinary Lab engaging a number of units at the UFRN and several partners in Brazil and worldwide.
SMLab’s main objective is to research and develop “Smart Solutions” that can be used to solve real problems in the context of Smart Cities, Industry 4.0, and the Internet of Things.
Smart Metropolis Lab has a portfolio of solutions that already impact the quality of life of millions of people, such as Smart City Integrated Platform; solutions and tools for managing and increasing efficiency in Public Safety; control and automation tools for Smart Energy; intelligent management of Vehicle Fleet; management, control, and automation of Industry 4.0; visualization, analysis, and processing of Geographic Data on a Web platform.
