Having started in 2017 as a project in the Bachelor’s program in Design at UFRN and having been the subject of a patent application late last year, the Social Defense Aircraft (AEDES) is scheduled to begin operations in 2022. 📃 ✈️
The project aims to use an aerial surveillance drone to enhance security on the UFRN campus. The drone can be activated by users in danger through integration with the Smart Campus platform, tracking the user and deterring potential criminals with its distinctive sounds and lights. 🚨
AEDES was awarded by the Research and Innovation Forum of the Barreira do Inferno Launch Center (FOPI), winning titles for best work and most innovative work for two consecutive years. In 2018, it was also highlighted at the 15th Academic Congress on National Defense by the Ministry of Defense. 🥇 🏆
